F430

F430

The F430 hails the arrival of a whole new generation of Ferrari V8-engined berlinettas. Every inch of the car was inspired by the engineering research carried out at Ferrari's Gestione Sportiva F1 racing division. The result is a highly innovative design characterized by cutting-edge technologies applied for use on a road-going car.

Two of these innovations are world firsts on high-performance sports cars: the electronic differential (E-Diff), originally developed by Ferrari for its F1 single-seaters, and the steering wheel-mounted commutator switch (the manettino) which directly controls suspension settings, the CST stability and traction control, the E-Diff and the change speed of the F1 transmission.

The F430's all-new 4,308 cc engine develops 483 bhp and 465 Nm (343 lb/ft) of torque. Needless to say, performance is outstanding: acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds flat and a maximum speed in excess of 195 mph. As well as an increase in performance. New aerodynamics provide even greater down force, with 616 lbs generated at 186 mph.

Other Ferrari Formula 1 influences can be seen in the optional carbon-ceramic discs, which offer superior stopping power, and the F1 paddle shifter, which effectively halves change times compared to the 360 Modena.

The F430 comes as standard with new 19" alloy wheels and adaptive suspension in a package that has been designed to deliver outstanding performance and maximum driving pleasure.

F430 Spider

F430 Spider

The latest in Ferrari's long line of V8-engined convertible sports cars, the F430 Spider offers a unique combination of extreme performance and open-air motoring. Equipped with the same competition-inspired 4.3-liter flat crank power unit as the F430 coupé, the Spider provides a true 193 mph top speed along with formidable acceleration, covering the 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.9 seconds.

F1-derived aerodynamics pay considerable dividends in achieving these performance figures. The track continues to be Ferrari's favored test bed for research and development. The Spider's sinuous lines have been honed to reduce drag while generating no less than 572lbs of down force at 186 mph.

Significant improvements have also been wrought in the chassis department, with a 10 percent increase in torsional rigidity and a five percent improvement in beam strength over the 360 Spider. Handling and road holding are consequently of the highest standard. The innovative electronic differential and F1 transmission are instrumental in transferring the V8's 483bhp (490 bhp DIN) to the road.

599 GTB Fiorano

599 GTB Fiorano

599 for the displacement of its V12 engine, GTB as in Gran Turismo Berlinetta, after the most famous Ferrari berlinettas ever built and Fiorano after the famous private track Ferrari uses to hone its F1 and road cars. This stunning all-aluminum two-seater coupé is summed up rather succinctly by its name and delivers everything that this promises. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano sets a new benchmark of excellence in the sports car world.

With its 620 bhp Enzo-derived 5,999cc V12, the 599 GTB Fiorano sprints from 0 to 62 mph in an astonishing 3.7 seconds and boasts a top speed in excess of 205 mph. These impressive performance figures are reinforced by cutting-edge technology that includes the F1 gearbox, which shifts in just 100 milliseconds. Also among the sophisticated elements are F1-Trac traction and stability control designed for even greater cornering grip and magnetorheological (MR) fluid suspension for peerless body control.

612 Scaglietti

612 Scaglietti

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, named for the Modenese designer who mastered the automotive aluminum form, is designed to be the world's finest 2+2 seat sport coupe. In the long-standing tradition of Gran Turismo Ferraris, the goal is accomplished through high tech, avant-garde design. Styling is by Pininfarina, which advances the sports coupe paradigm while paying homage to the famed Ferrari 375MM Coupe commissioned in 1954 for Ingrid Bergman by Roberto Rossellini.

Built entirely of aluminum, which provides extremely high structural rigidity while significantly reducing weight, the 612 Scaglietti is a new breed of 2+2 sports cars. Compared with the outgoing 456M, the new 612 Scaglietti weighs 132 pounds less, providing superior handling and road-holding capabilities. A car clearly in a league of its own, the 612 can carry four passengers in comfort and still achieve speeds and cornering forces most sports cars can only dream of.

The V12 engine in the 612 Scaglietti is positioned behind the front axle providing a mid-front engine layout which optimizes traction by placing 54 percent of the vehicle's weight on the rear wheels. Further enhancing traction is CST - Traction and Stability Control – a unit that governs all the car's electronic safety systems (ABS, ASR and EBD) and the car's adaptive suspension to ensure maximum control. The CST can be overridden for track use at the driver’s discretion.

Space and efficiency complementing high performance are hallmarks of the new Ferrari four seater, which attains the highest levels of thrust and balance without sacrificing comfort and luxury. The 612 Scaglietti is the pinnacle of practical Italian automotive style with light but rigid all-alloy construction, a superb 540 bhp V12 engine displacing just under six liters, the new F1 paddle shift transmission, the first application of integrated stability and traction control in a Ferrari, an adaptive suspension including continuously variable shock absorbers, and a host of luxury appointments expected by the discerning drivers who count themselves amongst the Ferraristi. Grand luxury and exceptional functionality combine with supreme driving pleasure in the 612 Scaglietti, the Ferrari for more than two.
